GERP Madagascar is launching the Malagasy Primatological Society Congress in collaboration with ISSED Toamasina this December. The Malagasy Primatological Society Congress is recognized as an important global meeting for Malagasy and international primatologists to present and share their experiences. The topic of the Congress 2017 is “Valuing achievements on lemur conservation and research in Madagascar”. The congress features a dynamic scientific program with cutting edge symposia, workshops, round table and posters; countless networking opportunities for future collaboration, fantastic field trips, and renowned keynote speakers to inspire lemur researchers.
The venue of the Congress will be at the ISSED Barikadimy in Toamasina, Madagascar. Madagascar with its huge biological and cultural diversity is a remarkable island. It is well known for its unique lemur diversity found nowhere else in the world. We welcome you warmly to the island where unique forests, animals, weather and people come together.
The congress aims to provide a fruitful experience through the creation of opportunities for primatologists to present and share their experiences on lemur and conservation aspects, and to update the information on lemurs, their distribution and habitat status in order to improve decision-making in conservation We invite you to submit abstracts for presentations and/or posters from now until August 30 th ,2017 and start booking your accommodations.

Abstract submission and Registration
Every person who wishes to attend the congress has to register. The deadline for the abstract submission is set to September 10th, and registration will start from September 1st, 2017.

The amounts of registration fees are listed below. This fee includes documentation, participation in the various plenary and sessions, and coffee break.
Registration fee
– student: 50,000 MGA
– researcher: 100,000 MGA
The registration fee includes the congress package, lunch and coffee break for the 3 days, and other preparation related to the congress.
All participants should be in charge of their transport to the congress venue, their accommodation, breakfast and dinner onsite
Small grants are available for those whose abstracts are accepted. The détails are coming soon.
The payment may be made under two scenarios:
Scenario 1: by bank transfer no later than November 15th, 2017 (email us for the bank details).
Scenario 2: Cash payment at GERP’s office in Antananarivo no later than November 15th, 2017
